In our journey of life, we often get to points where we begin to long for change, a sense of transformation, and relief. I believe that humans are incredibly resilient, and though we often experience our deepest moments of pain in relationship, through healthy relationship with other and God the capacity to grow and heal reaches far. While I never saw myself as a counsellor in my early years, I’m grateful that this is where life experiences, natural interests, and the Lord have led me.

Inner healing is a subject that I have a passion for, and in my practice as a therapist, I get the opportunity to meet others in their story with a trauma-informed, compassionate presence. I’ve discovered that the beauty of faith integrative therapy is that it allows the therapeutic space to be a place where psychological growth and spiritual renewal can coexist. As we slow down, and be present with ourselves and God it creates space to acknowledge that healing is psychological, emotional, and spiritual, as we are a whole person- body, soul, and spirit to be transformed.

  • My therapeutic approach is grounded in attachment theory and is experiential in nature. Drawing on techniques from Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I work from a trauma-informed and systemic lens to understand the broader relationships and contexts that shape our present-day experiences. I have additional training in trauma therapy, having completed Level 1 in Observed Experiential Integration (OEI).

As for integration, the opportunity to integrate faith within therapy creates space for grace, meaning, and hope to flood the work of healing even in the midst of suffering. It’s a beautiful, hope-filled combination. From an attachment and experiential lens, integrating faith in the counselling process allows us to not only make sense of their emotional experiences but also to encounter the deeper truth of being loved, seen, and securely held by God. From this collective lens I work with an array of presenting concerns that include life transitions, developmental trauma, spiritual/faith crises, relationship challenges, anxiety + depression, self-esteem, and racial + cultural identity challenges.

  • I recognize that sometimes having a space where we can come and undo ‘unashamed’ can be rare. I love creating a space where your emotions and experiences can be seen and settled into- met without judgment, which empowers us to show up more congruent outside of this space. The beauty of the therapeutic space is that it can serve as an incubator for the reparative experiences and fresh ground to practice new ways we want to show up in the world.

As a counsellor, my clients have shared that I quickly establish safety in the relationship while also gently exploring the core of the hurt, moments of suffering, curiosities, and desires. Some days that looks like moments of deep processing, others look like moments of skill-building through psychoeducation, and learning coping tools.

I have a heart to journey with those experiencing life transitions, relational changes, developmental trauma, and those trying to discern purpose and calling. A sweet spot in sessions is when I get to sit with those who desire to work through distance, or those yearning for closeness in their relationship with God.
