My journey into counselling was a long and winding one. With a background in biblical studies, vocational ministry and international missions, - unscripted life events led me to change gears mid-life and complete my MA in Counselling Psychology with 3 young kids and an amazingly supportive husband. Throughout the completion of my MA, and through internships at various counselling practices, I wrestled deeply. I doubted if psychology alone could truly heal all that ails us, and wondered how the transformative work of Christ, the deep love of the Father and the ever-dwelling counsel of the Holy Spirit could be incorporated into the journeys and stories I met with.
I know that on a personal level, my most profound and lasting places of healing and change have been deeply rooted in my faith experiences. My professional journey since graduation has led me deeply into the field of all things theology and psychology. I love to inhabit the space of ‘both/and’ as a counsellor: the integration of traditional counselling psychology and Christian spirituality.

My therapeutic approach is deeply informed by attachment theory, emotionally focused therapy, and existential themes involving meaning and purpose. I use a trauma-informed lens to understand how painful experiences shape our present responses and used body-based work to support the healing of trauma. I also have additional training in trauma recovery, and have completed multiple trainings in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.
An ongoing passion is helping clients understand how their own attachment stories show up in their life with God. My ongoing studies through the Renovare Institute give me new (and ancient) ways of understanding suffering, hope, and healing through a lens of Christian contemplative traditions and spiritual practices. In using these therapeutic tools and guiding you in interactions with God and scripture, I am committed to being an empathetic, steady companion on your journey of healing and growth.

I love to work with individuals who feel stuck in their life with God. In particular, supporting individuals in middle stages of life, those in transition (between careers or wrestling with vocation), and people working through valleys of burn-out and painful life events are all spaces where I thrive as a therapist. If you find yourself asking questions like “Who am I again? What am I called to do with my life? What does thriving look like now that (fill in the blank) has happened?” these are questions I would love to explore with you. Or maybe you have always wished you could work through stuck places in life with the paired reflection of spiritual direction and insight of therapeutic training. I would love to share the space and questions of ‘both/and’ with you.
My clients share they appreciate my slow and gentle pace but appreciate that I can be directive in my approach when the time is right – often using a good dose of humour to help us along. I love to receive and give book recommendations and tend to talk with my hands and draw imaginary diagrams on the walls when I get excited about sharing a new idea.

I am married to my amazing husband Kyle, and we have three daughters. I love to travel, cultivate beauty indoors and out, and create good food to share with friends and family. When I am not with you in the counselling office, you can find me outside exploring nature with my family, enjoying food together with friends, or with my nose in a book and a cup of tea by my side.
